Sensorial Mappings: Reimagining Landscape through Sight, Sound, and Movement

Overlaying and integrating artistic works in different media with the work of biologists, ecologists and other scientists. We aim to express dynamic, layered natural, cultural, and economic landscape systems.

In June 2016 we began to map a 2500-acre preserve in the Western Ghats of India. The site is home to the Shillim Institute, a non-profit center focused on sustainable development. Margie Ruddick has been involved with Shillim for over twenty years and the mission and programs of the Institute formed the basis for the creation of ONE LANDSCAPE.

In the first phase of our mapping exercises at Shillim, we used 3D aerial imagery to create a basic guide to the site and its features.
